Flashing firmware is one of the most frequent operations for Rockchip single\u2011board computer developers. Whether you are deploying Linux, Android or custom system images, correct firmware flashing ensures stable operation of your embedded hardware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This tutorial applies to mainstream Rockchip SBC hardware, including the RK3328 development board<\/a>, RK3568 \u00e7ekirdek kart\u0131<\/a> ve RK3588 geli\u015ftirme kart\u0131<\/a>. We will walk you through SD\u2011card flashing and common error handling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pre\u2011requisites<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Before you start flashing Rockchip firmware, prepare the following items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Valid official or customized Rockchip firmware image file<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. High\u2011quality Micro\u2011SD card, 8GB or larger, Class\u201110 recommended<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    Step 1: Prepare SD Card & Firmware Image<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Format your Micro\u2011SD card to FAT32. Download the matched firmware image for your hardware model. Make sure you get the correct firmware for your board. Firmware for RK3328 cannot be directly used on RK3588 hardware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Step 2: Write Image to SD Card<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Use imaging tool such as BalenaEtcher to burn the .img<\/code> firmware file into your SD card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Open BalenaEtcher<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Select downloaded Rockchip firmware image<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Select your target SD card device<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Click Flash and wait for completion<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      After burning finishes, safely eject your SD card from PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Step3: Boot From SD\u2011Card<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Insert the burned SD\u2011card into your Rockchip board SD slot. Power on your RK3568 \u00e7ekirdek kart\u0131<\/a>, the device will automatically boot from SD\u2011card and start firmware installation. Wait for 3\u20118 minutes, do not cut power supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Many developers encounter boot\u2011loop or black\u2011screen after flashing Rockchip firmware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
